124th foundation day

The day before our 124th high school day field demonstration, my classmates and I went to the gym to watch the coronation of Mr. & Ms. ISNHS, and we also watched some students perform.

Reflection

During the fourth quarter, I learned many important topics that helped me gain knowledge and develop new skills. In science, chemical reactions helped me understand how substances change and interact in everyday life, such as in cooking and other natural processes. In social studies, the Bill of Rights taught me about the freedoms and protections that every person has, reminding me to respect my own rights and those of others. In mathematics, learning about quartiles, deciles, and percentiles helped me understand how data can be organized and interpreted, which is useful when analyzing grades, results, and statistics. Grammar improved my ability to communicate clearly and express my ideas effectively. The topic about sekswalidad at katotohanan helped me understand the truth about human sexuality and the importance of making responsible and respectful decisions. Lastly, El Filibusterismo taught me valuable lessons about justice, courage, and standing up against unfairness in society.

National Women's Month

Every March, the Philippines celebrates National Women’s Month. This time is meant to recognize and appreciate the important role women play in our lives. Women contribute a lot to their families, communities, and the country. Mothers, teachers, workers, and leaders all help shape society through their hard work and dedication.

National Women’s Month also reminds people to respect and support women’s rights. March 8 is known worldwide as International Women’s Day and is part of the celebration. During this month, many schools and organizations hold activities such as programs, discussions, and small events that recognize women and their contributions.

Even with many achievements, some women still face challenges such as unfair treatment and fewer opportunities. This celebration helps raise awareness about these issues and encourages people to support equality and fairness in society.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a day that celebrates love and appreciation. It is usually observed on February 14th, and people use this day to show care for those who are important to them. Some people celebrate with their partners, while others spend time with friends or family. Valentine’s Day is not only about romantic love; it is also about kindness, gratitude, and reminding others that they matter.

    I started the morning by going to school like any normal day. Even though it was a regular school day, there was a different feeling in the air. Some students brought small gifts, chocolates, or cards for their friends. Teachers even wished us a happy Valentine’s Day. It made the day feel a little more special, even while we were busy with classes and assignments.

 When I got home, I had dinner with my family, we sat together, talked about our day, and enjoyed the meal. That simple dinner meant a lot because we were all present and sharing time with one another. It reminded me that love can be shown in small, everyday moments.

    Valentine’s Day is important because it gives us a chance to express our feelings openly. Sometimes we forget to say “thank you” or “I appreciate you.” This day encourages us to show love, whether through words, actions, or just spending time together. In the end, Valentine’s Day is not about expensive gifts it is about making the people in your life feel valued and cared for.

Intayon Festival

The Intayon Festival is a colorful and exciting celebration in Ilocos Sur, Philippines. It brings people together to celebrate their culture, traditions, and community. During the festival, you can really feel the joy and pride of the Ilocano people as they share what makes their province special.

One of the best parts of the festival is the street dancing. Groups from schools and different barangays perform lively dances while wearing bright and creative costumes. Their performances often show parts of their history and everyday life. The energy of the dancers and the music make the whole event fun and unforgettable.

Aside from the dances, some booths sell local food and handmade products. Visitors can try delicious Ilocano dishes and buy items made by local artisans. These activities help small businesses and attract more tourists to the province.

During the last day, my schoolmate and I went to the Quirino Stadium to watch a concert. We watched the band of Fitterkarma, Earl Agustin, Adie, and Arthur Nery, the reason why we watched the concert

The Intayon Festival is more than just a party. It is a way for the people of Ilocos Sur to show their unity, talent, and love for their culture. It reminds everyone to appreciate and continue their traditions as time goes on.

Our experience at the Fiesta of the Conversion of St. Paul in Vigan City was both meaningful and enjoyable. As we walked along the historic cobblestone streets, we immediately felt the festive atmosphere filled with music, colorful decorations, and cheerful people. Attending the solemn procession and thanksgiving mass allowed us to witness the deep faith of the Bigueños and reflect on the spiritual importance of the celebration.

Aside from the religious activities, the fiesta became even more special because of the time we spent together as a family. We enjoyed going to the carnival, where we shared laughter, tried different rides, and created happy memories. Later, watching a famous singer perform live with my cousin added excitement to the celebration and made the experience more unforgettable.

Vigan City Fiesta was not just a celebration but a meaningful experience that brought us closer to the city’s culture and to one another. It showed how Vigan preserves its traditions while embracing modern entertainment. Most importantly, the fiesta reminded us that celebrations are more enjoyable when shared with family, making the experience truly memorable and special.

 During the third quarter, I learned many important lessons that helped me grow both academically and personally. I gained knowledge about the reproductive system, which taught me the importance of taking care of my health and understanding how our bodies work. I also learned about probability, which helped me think logically and make better decisions in solving problems. Through critique exercises, I developed my ability to analyze and express my thoughts clearly, while coding taught me basic computer skills and how to create simple programs. 

Despite these learnings, I faced some challenges along the way. Some topics, like probability and coding, were difficult to understand at first. I sometimes struggled with organizing my thoughts during critiques. There were also times when managing schoolwork and other responsibilities felt overwhelming.

To address these challenges, I made sure to study regularly and ask my teachers for clarification whenever I didn’t understand something. I asked my classmate for help whenever I couldn't understand something. I manage my time to do my schoolwork.

Moving on, I will continue to apply the lessons I learned this quarter in my daily life. I will take care of my health, use logic when solving problems, express my ideas clearly, improve my coding skills, and always practice good manners. I will also work on staying organized and focused, so I can achieve even more in the next quarter.

    José Rizal’s greatest contribution to Philippine society was helping Filipinos realize their worth as a people. During Spanish rule, many Filipinos were treated unfairly and made to feel inferior. Through his ideas and actions, Rizal helped open their minds and made them understand that they deserved freedom, respect, and equal rights.

    Rizal used his writings, especially Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, to show

the real situation of the country. In these novels, he exposed the abuse of power by Spanish officials and friars. Because the stories were easy to relate to, Filipinos saw their own struggles in the characters. This helped them understand the problems of society and encouraged them to seek change.

    He also believed strongly in the power of education. Rizal thought that learning could help Filipinos think for themselves and improve their lives. For him, education was the best way to fight injustice without violence and to build a better nation.

    Rizal’s death showed his deep love for the country. His execution made Filipinos more determined to stand up for their freedom. Even today, Rizal is remembered not just as a hero, but as someone who inspired the nation to be brave, united, and proud of being Filipino

Christmas season

    The Christmas season, in its true essence, is not really about fancy decorations or expensive gifts. It is about the warmth we feel in our hearts when we are with the people we love. Christmas reminds us to slow down, reflect, and remember the birth of Jesus Christ, which symbolizes love♥, joy🙆 ,and hope💪. It is a time when faith becomes stronger and hearts become softer.

    Christmas is also about simple acts of kindness. Sharing food, helping someone in need, forgiving past mistakes, or even just being present for others shows the real meaning of the season. These small gestures often mean more than wrapped presents because they come from genuine care and love.

    

    Christmas brings people closer together. Families gather, laughter fills homes, and old memories are remembered while new ones are made. In celebrating Christmas in its essence, we are reminded that love, compassion, and togetherness are what truly make the season special and these are the gifts that last far beyond Christmas Day.

National Indigenous Peoples Month

    Every October, the Philippines takes time to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month, a special moment to honor the culture, traditions, and voices of the country’s Indigenous Peoples. These communities have lived here for generations, keeping their ways of life alive through music, dance, craftsmanship, language, and close ties to the land. The theme this year reminds us that their culture isn’t something distant or only for show, it’s a living part of who we are as Filipinos, and it helps shape the kind of future we want as a nation. 

    When we talk about “weaving culture,” it’s more than talking about beautiful fabrics or dances. It’s a simple way to think about how traditions, beliefs, and everyday practices come together like threads in a cloth, each one unique but strong when woven together. Indigenous communities carry knowledge about nature, community life, and how to live sustainably, wisdom that can help all of us when we think about the future of our environment and our society.

    This month also calls our attention to real challenges that many Indigenous peoples still face. Even with laws meant to protect their rights and land, some communities continue to struggle with limited access to opportunities, threats to their ancestral domains, and pressures that make it harder to keep traditions alive.     Children deserve to grow up in a world where they feel safe, loved, and protected. This

year’s National Children’s Month theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, reminds us of how important it is to fight against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Many children today are exposed to online dangers without even realizing it. Some people take advantage of their innocence, and it’s heartbreaking to know that many children suffer in silence. This theme tells us that protecting children is not just a choice, it’s a responsibility.

    The government has made big efforts to protect the rights and safety of children. Through laws like the Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act, authorities are working hard to punish those who harm children. Despite these laws, there are still many cases that have been ignored, which means there’s still a lot more to do. Parents and families also play an important role in keeping children safe. They should guide their kids in using the internet responsibly, limit them on using technology, and teach them not to trust strangers online. Schools and communities must also help by spreading awareness, encouraging open conversations about child protection, and also as students, we should spread awareness. When everyone works together, children will feel more protected and supported.

    Fighting for the safety and rights of children is not just about following rules, it’s about showing care, and love. Every child deserves to live without fear and to grow up in a world that values their dreams and happiness. Protecting them means protecting the future, because every child’s life and dignity matter.

President Elpidio Quirino lived a life shaped by hardship, hope, and an unwavering belief in the Filipino spirit. Born in Caoayan to a simple family, he learned early what it meant to struggle. Losing his father young forced him to grow up quickly, yet he never let poverty stop him from dreaming big. He walked long distances to attend school and worked tirelessly to finish his studies. When he served as a representative, senator, and later as part of the Philippine Independence Mission, he did so with the quiet determination of someone who wanted Filipinos to finally stand on their own. He believed independence wasn’t just a political goal he saw it as a promise of dignity for every Filipino family.

    When fate placed him in the presidency after the sudden death of Manuel Roxas, Quirino inherited a nation still broken from war. Instead of focusing on power or prestige, he poured his energy into helping the country rise again. He pushed for rebuilding homes, supporting war victims, and restarting the economy. Many of his decisions came from personal grief—having lost his own wife and children during the war, he understood the pain of loss felt by thousands of Filipinos.

    Quirino’s time as president wasn’t perfect, and he faced harsh criticism, but he remained committed to serving with heart. He believed healing the nation meant lifting people, even when the work was slow and unrecognized. In the end, his legacy is not just in laws or programs, but in the resilience he showed and the hope he tried to inspire. Our journey led us to the remarkable town of San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, a place where hard work meets artistry, and where every corner reflects the strength and creativity of its people. Once called Tuanong, this town has grown into a community known for its skilled artisans, rich traditions, and strong connection to both land and sea.

Walking through the town, we could immediately sense the artistry that defines San Vicente. The sound of chisels echoed from workshops where master woodcarvers skillfully shape wood into stunning furniture, intricate doors, and decorative pieces. Watching them work was truly inspiring every stroke of the chisel carried both passion and precision. Here, wood is more than a material; it’s a symbol of dedication and heritage, crafted by hands guided by generations of knowledge.

Our next stop was the salt-making area, where we witnessed how the people turn seawater into pure, white crystals of salt. The process, though simple in tools, is demanding in effort and patience. Each grain of salt tells a story of perseverance and pride, proof that San Vicente’s people know how to make the most of nature’s gifts. The scent of the sea breeze mixed with the warmth of the sun created a peaceful yet powerful atmosphere that reflected the town’s hardworking spirit.

Not far from the salt fields stands the San Vicente Church, a structure that has withstood the test of time. Built during the Spanish era, its aged bricks and graceful design remind visitors of the town’s enduring faith and history. Inside, the quietness of the church felt comforting, a place where the townspeople’s hopes and gratitude come together in prayer. And also we went to the old rest house of the governor, the Asilo de San Vicente.

Adding a fun and unexpected twist to our trip, we also visited Dinosaur Island, one of San Vicente’s most exciting attractions. It’s a place where education and entertainment blend, showing that San Vicente doesn’t just preserve history, it also embraces creativity and innovation to attract new generations of visitors.

Before leaving, we stopped by the Pasalubong Center, where shelves were filled with
handmade crafts, wooden furniture, and local delicacies. Each product reflected the town’s unity and craftsmanship, proving that San Vicente’s people take great pride in their work.

Visiting San Vicente was an unforgettable experience, a journey through creativity, industry, and faith. From the artistry of woodcarving to the patience of salt making, from the peaceful church to the adventure of Dinosaur Island, the town captures the soul of Filipino resilience and imagination.

San Vicente is more than just a destination; it’s a living masterpiece built by the hands and hearts of its people. Reflection

    During the Second Quarter, I have learned many new lessons and gained more knowledge about our subjects. I discovered many thing one of them is that learning becomes easier when you listening carefully, participate in class, and manage my time well. And how to solve difference equation specially in our subject basic electronics, also on how to calculate current at power. I also improved my skills in writing, researching, and working with my classmates on group activities. With the help of our English, Researcher, and other subjects.

    One of the challenges I faced was balancing school tasks and deadlines. Sometimes, I found it hard to understand some lessons or finish activities on time. Specially when i don’t have any interest to the lesson. There were moments when I felt pressured, especially when many projects were given at once.

    To overcome these challenges, I started organizing my schedule and asking help from my teachers and classmates whenever I didn’t understand something. I also learned to study earlier instead of waiting for the last minute. I also helped the to the thing that they couldn’t understand, it also a big help for me because when i taught someone it is easier for me to better understand the lesson. And i do my best to listen in every lesson even though i don’t have interest in this lesson. These small action helped me handle my schoolwork better.

    Moving on, I will continue to do my best and become more responsible with my studies. I will keep improving my habits, listen more in class, and never give up even when things get difficult. I believe that with hard work and a positive attitude, I can achieve more in the next quarter.

    This year’s Teacher’s Month Celebration with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero” reminds us of the countless sacrifices and dedication of teachers who guide us toward our dreams. Teachers are more than just educators, they are mentors, inspirations, and everyday heroes who shape the future through their students. They dedicate their time, patience, and wisdom to help us learn, grow, and become better individuals.

    Sir Rolly Raceles, my Grade 8 Biotechnology teacher. He was not only knowledgeable in his subject but also passionate about helping us understand and appreciate science. His way of teaching made even the most difficult lessons interesting and meaningful. Sir Rolly always encouraged us to think critically, to be curious, and to never stop learning, qualities that continue to guide me even now. I express my gratitude and respect to Sir Rolly and all teachers by valuing the lessons they taught me and applying them in real life. Simple gestures like saying “thank you,” giving a heartfelt message, or showing effort in class are meaningful ways to honor their hard work. I also believe that striving to be the best version of myself is one of the greatest ways to make my teachers proud.
